Hidden Identities

Hidden Identities is a large-scale installation which explores anonymity as a path to personal empowerment, unravelled in space through video, sound and objects. The project anonymously shares the stories of individuals who have suppressed their true identity due to social norms and, as a result, enables them to reveal their true selves without the fear of being judged.

Designed for the Horniman Museum & Gardens in South London, the project targets Gen X visitors who either visit the museum regularly or live in the local community.

By sharing these stories, the exhibition inspires visitors to reflect on and challenge social structures that prevent them from expressing their true identity. It also seeks to empower the local community by creating an open dialogue around identity for generations to come.
