Invitation In A Box

As part of the Hidden Identities opening event, I designed a complimentary experience, which aimed to intrigue and build the anticipation of the visitors before the big night. For it, I created a series of 30 masks. Each of these masks was sent to a guest prior of the opening night, where they were used as ‘ticket’ to enter the space.

No two masks are the same as they are created with a unique handcrafted technique of melted thin clear plastic, being formed by hand on a plaster face cast. The mask comes wrapped in a thin gauze fabric, secured with a cotton band, which then splits in two, in order to secure the mask behind the wearer’s head.

In order to minimise the use of mass printing media, any text used in the invitation box comes from a stamp. The stamps were created with the use of rubber and a laser printing machine.
